Ventilator Management & Trach Proficiency Class
Class Recommended for Subacute Licensed Nurses Never Before Certified or Whose Certification has Expired
Upon completion of this program, nursing staff will be able to:
— List interventions to correct abnormal ABGs
— List mechanical ventilation indications
— Explain what VAP is, how it is caused, and steps that can be taken for prevention
— Explain how to manipulate the I/E ratio and when intervention is needed
— Plus everything included listed below in the Tracheostomy Proficiency Class

Tracheostomy Proficiency Class
Class Recommended for Subacute Licensed Nurses Ready to Renew Their Certifications
Upon completion of this program, nursing staff will be able to list:
– Risks & benefits of the Passey-Muir Valves and when to use them
– Indicators and steps to capping a trach tube
– The different types of tracheostomy tubes and explain the differences and why one tube would be used over another type

CNA Resident Safety Class
Class Recommended for
ALL CNAs
Upon completion of this program, nursing staff will be able to:
– Determine the difference between & identify a ventilator and aerosol bedside setup
– Safely give a ventilator and/or tracheostomy patient a shower
– Identify signs a tracheostomy patient needs help and understands the difference between a rapid response and a code blue
